What are The Best Treatment for Nasal Polyps 2020 ?

Hình ảnh
INCS are an effective treatment for Nasal Polyps ( Nose polyps ) but are limited in their efficacy by inconsistent nasal distribution, especially in the presence of severe nasomucosal edema or large nasal polyps. Conven¬tional nasal sprays deliver less than 5% of metered INCS into the middle meatus, the critical area of the nose for drainage of the maxillary, anterior ethmoid, and frontal sinuses. Several different delivery strategies, such as nebulization or irrigation, are used to overcome this maldistribution. For example, an appropriately powered randomized clinical trial of topical budesonide saline irrigation versus INCS nasal sprays shows no difference in outcome for the patient-based quality of life score or objective (endoscopy and CT scores) assessments.  However, a 2019 Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-approved device for intranasal fluticasone, which is breath-assisted, is now indicated for the treatment of Nasal Polyps (Xhance; Optinose, Yardley, Pa). It significantl...

How to Diagnose NOSE Polyps ? How to Cure Nose Polyps at Home ?

Hình ảnh
To diagnose nose polps,  a fiberoptic rhinoscopic examination is essential to diagnose the Nose Polyps phenotype before initiating medical treatment. Anterior rhinoscopy only visualizes the anterior one- third of the nasal cavity and is inadequate to visualize the posterior nasal cavity and nasopharynx. Rhinoscopy is a simple, low-risk, cost-effective procedure that should be performed routinely in subjects with persistent upper airway problems. Just as office spirometry is a routine procedure to assist in the diagnosis of airflow obstruction, so too should rhinoscopy be used regularly for Nose Polyps. The primary objective outcome of phase III clinical trials of dupilumab and phase II clinical trials of other biologic agents is based on the Nose Polyps scores as determined by rhinoscopy. ’ Rhinoscopy is also important to identify other abnormalities of the nasal cavity, pharynx, and larynx. These abnormalities may include enlarged adenoids, often associated with sleep apnea in chi...

Nose Polyps Natural Treatment ( New Study )

Nose Polyps tissues were obtained from 8 patients with nasal pol-yposis and asthma undergoing functional endoscopic sinussurgery (FESS). NM was obtained from the inferiorturbinate of 8 subjects undergoing turbin ectomy for turbinate hypertrophy with or without septoplasty for nasalseptum deviation. All Nose polyps patients included herein had been followed up in the Rhinology Unit & Smell Clinic, ENT Department of our Hospital for at least one year prior tosurgery, and were assigned for surgery because they hadnot shown an improvement by GC treatment in nasal obstruction, rhinorrhea, and/or quality of life, as described elsewhere.  The diagnosis of severe nasal polyposis was based on criteria described in the EP3OS document, .e.,nasal symptoms, nasal endoscopic examination, and CT scan of paranasal sinus, as reported elsewhere. The diag-nosis of asthma was established on the basis of the clinicalhistory and the demonstration of a reversible bronchialobstruction. One of the patie...

Is There Anyway to Cure Nasal Polyps without Surgery ?

Hình ảnh
Chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyposis ( nose polyps ) is a numbrella term for a heterogeneous group of inflammatory disorders characterized by persistent polypoid inflammation ofthe sino nasal mucosa (>_12 weeks) and nasal obstruction. Symptoms are often severe and only partially responsive to treatment, and disease is commonly associated with difficult-to-treat asthma. There is an urgent unmet clinical need to understand the immuno pathology of Nasal polyps.  Several studies have indicated regional variation in nasal polyps endotypes. Western countries show a predominance of eosinophilic TH2-associated polyps, and Staphylococcus aureussuperantigens have beenimplicated in driving the TH2 response. Nasal polyps reveals frequent epithelial damage, a thickened  basementmembrane, oedema, fibrotic foci and a reduced number of vessels and glands. The stroma of Nasal polyps contains abundant infiltration of inflammatory cells, predominantly activated eosinophils and increased...

What are Best Way to Treat Nose Polyps ?

Hình ảnh
Nose polyps ( chronicrhinosinusitis with nasal polyps ) is a heterogenous mucosalinflammation involving not only the paranasal sinuses but alsothe nose. An abnormal host response to infectious microorganisms, such as viruses and bacteria, has been suggested to be responsiblefor the persistent inflammation of the sinonasal mucosa.1Although data for the prevalence of viral infection in patientswith Nose polyps are conflicting, a high frequency of viral presence wasdemonstrated in nasal epithelial cells or lavage fluid of patientswith Nose polyps.  It has been suggested that viral respiratory tractinfection  influences the development or progressive courseof Nose polyps through various means.5,6In vitrostudies demonstratedthat VRIs can damage the epithelial cells covering the sinonasalcavity, resulting in dysfunction of the epithelial barrier andincreased bacterial adhesion. However, few studies have evaluatedwhether an apparent deficiency in antiviral immunity or the interferon r...

What are Glucocorticoids Nasal Spray Side Effects ?

Hình ảnh
New study shows that fibroblasts from patients with NPs and asthma who have a poor clinical response to Glucocorticoids Nasal  treatment, display a relative resistance to the anti-proliferative effects of glucocorticoids nasal,  compared to fibroblasts from control nasal mucosa.  In addition, glucocorticoids nasal  failed to inhibit collagen expression in any fibroblast type. In contrast, GCs effectively down-regulated IL-6 and IL-8 production by nasal fibroblasts, though Nasal Polyps fibroblasts were less sensitive to dexamethasone than NM fibroblasts.  Overall, our findings reinforce the concept that glucocorticoids nasal are less effective in reducing fibrosis and remodelling of the airways than in reducing inflammation. The study results also suggest that the impaired sensitivity of nasal polyp fibroblasts to the in vitro anti-proliferative and anti-inflammatory effects of glucocorticoids concurs in part with the poor clinical response that these nasal polyp...

What Are The Symptoms of Nasal Polyposis ? How to Cure It Naturally at Home ?

Hình ảnh
Nasal polyps is a multifactorial disease with a complex pathophysiology involving multiple genetic and environmental factors. Nasal polyps is clinically charac-terized by the appearance of nasal polyps in the nasal cavity and causes typical symptoms such as nasal obstruction, nasal discharge and/or loss of smell. Nasal polyps is associated with local immunoglobulin hyperproduction and the presence of IgE antibodies against Staphylococcus aureus enterotoxins (SAEs). Aspirin-exacerbated respiratory disease is a severe form of chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps in which nearly all patients express anti-SAEs. The last European Position Paper Nasal Polyps  defined chronic rhinosinusitis as inflam-mation of the nose and the paranasal sinuses >12 weeks that is characterized by two or more symptoms, one of which should be either nasal blockage/congestion/obstruction or nasal discharge (anterior/posterior nasal drip) associated with facial pain/pressure or reduction/loss of ...

Can Nasal Polyps Be Serious ? ( Must Read )

Severe nasal polyposis can cause deformities of the nose and face. This phenomenon is called Woakes’ syndrome. The facial deformity in our patient was caused by pressure from nasal polyposis that filled the nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses. Using the midface degloving approach, we performed osteotomy of the nasal bone, shaved the .The facial deformity of Woakes’ syndrome involved the nasal and facial bones and nasal cartilaginous tissue. In severe cases, excessive prominence of the malar region and orbital hypertelorism have been reported . Patient had broadening of the nose and excessive prominence of the malar regions without orbital hypertelorism. We believe that inflammation associated with 30 years of chronic sinusitis caused enlargement of the nasal polyps, leading to the exertion of physical pressure on the neighbouring bones and cartilage.   Several reports discuss the cosmetic treatment of the nose after nasal polyp removal. Laff performed nasal plastic repair with osteo...

What is the Best Treatment for Nasal Polyps ?

Glucocorticoid is the first-line treatment for chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps. However, the appropriate dose and the duration of treatment remain unknown. In China, nasal spray is widely used in Nasal Polyps patients, and patients with asthma or with recurrent nasal polyps will be treated with oral steroids for one to two weeks or even longer to control the symptoms.  However, an increasing number of studies have demonstrated that the regular dose of nasal spray is not enough for disease control. Although the safety of short- course oral steroids has been demonstrated by clinical trials, repeated use of short-course oral steroids for more than two courses per year may increase the risk of osteoporosis.Recently, some physicians have recommended high dose local steroids as an effective and safe way to treat Nasal Polyps. In clinical observation, the endoscopic score and clinical symptoms of recurrent Nasal Polyps patients improved significantly at the end of one to t...

Best Way to Cure Nasal Polyps ( Nasal Polyps Research Study )

Researchers divided patients into eosinophilic Nasal Polyps and non-eosinophilic Nasal Polyps based on the infiltration of eosinophils in nasal polyp tissue. In non- eosinophilic patients, the reduction in nasal polyps was similar among the three groups. The results correlated with previous studies showing that high-dose budesonide nasal nebulization could significantly reduce the NP score in eosinophilic patients16,31 and the effect of high-dose local steroid treatment was greater than that of regular nasal spray treatment. According to the results of our study, oral steroids or high-dose local steroids might be unsuitable for non- eosinophilic patients, and might increase the risk of adverse events. For eosinophilic Nasal Polyps patients, a regular dose of nasal spray might not be enough to con¬trol disease. Previous studies demonstrated that for patients with more than 27% tissue eosinophils, more than 50% of patients might suffer fromrecurrence in two years after surgery....
